It’s simple: you want a cool custom design, let’s say, for a merch item. That’s what we‘re here for! Most design teams would say that this is a no go and will send you back for soul searching, but, luckily enough, we are not savages. The difference between a hypothetical you – a person who knows exactly what they want – and the real you is that you haven‘t met with us yet. When you do, tell us everything you already know about yourself. Sure, you’ll have to trust our choices to some degree, and the process of final product revision might take a bit longer, but we certainly have an idea or two of what your competitors see as cool and of how to make your cool different.
We cannot tell you straight away, compadre, because whereas one project may be finished in a couple of days, a different one would be still in progress in two months. Generally, design projects don’t take longer, and the exact timing depends on the complexity and the number of changes you want when you see the result. The moment we receive a task, we gather for the initial discussion, exchange ideas and start researching, drafting and sketching. When working on animations, we also write detailed scripts and storyboards, which are basically comic strips to play with different layouts of frames. We make separate sketches for the protagonists as well. Once we’re done with that, we gather for another meeting and make sure we’re all on the same page. After that, it’s all about polishing. We don’t stop until we consider the final design to be perfect. And if you don’t share our vision of perfection, then yes – we might shed a tear or two, but we will do as many revisions as it takes to make you cry too. With tears of joy, to be sure.
